Obituary For Tia Tenette Price-Jenkins

Tia Tenette Price Jenkins, 51, of Laurelton, NY, and formerly of Martinsville, VA, departed this life on Monday, January 3, 2022, at NYU Langone Hospital in Mineola, NY. She was born in St. John's Hospital in Brooklyn, NY on June 16, 1970, to Robert Price, Sr., and the late Sandra R. "Gina" Price.

She resided in Martinsville, VA, and attended Martinsville Junior High School before relocating to Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Sarah J. Hale High School in 1990 where she took up cosmology and later acquired her cosmetology license, and later in the fall, she attended Delaware State University from 1990-1992, where she earned an Associate's degree in Education.

She was a lovable person that never met a stranger. She saw the best in everyone. She had a smile and laugh that lit up a room.

She was a Paraprofessional at PQ I.S.5 Walter Reed School. She worked for the Intermediate Special Ed School for 24 years. She loved her students and they loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Sharif and Shafig which she shared with her former husband, Reginald Jenkins of Laurelton, NY; her father, Robert L. Price, Sr. (Gwenora) of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters, Melissa of Greensboro, NC, Azeena (Blanchard Yominmou), and Samiyyah both of Brooklyn, NY; five brothers, Robert, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY, Damon of Bronx, NY, Courtney "Cho" (Tiffany) of Bassett, VA, Ishaq and Aamir (Tyeisha) of Brooklyn, NY; her fiance', Ma'Kaibu Jones and her close friend, Tammy Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Price Family Cemetery, Soapstone Rd., Ridgeway, VA. Viewing will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required.
