Vinnie Giovanni Fox September 4, 1988 – December 30, 2021

Artist and basketball phenom, Vinnie Fox, put away his sketchpad and sneakers when he unexpectedly departed this earth on December 30, 2021.

He’ll be remembered for his contagious smile, playful nature, and poetry writing. He was enjoying a season of gratitude. You’d find him being grateful for the little things that we take for granted—getting a bo-berry biscuit from Bojangles'; having his first caramel macchiato from Starbucks; enjoying shopping for a Christmas tree; eating his Aunt Tia’s breakfast casserole; testing his culinary skills in the kitchen and posting about it on Facebook, and spending time with loved ones and friends. His thoughtful nature was endearing.

Vinnie attended Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC. He played rec ball. He earned a professional barber certification, culinary certification, and was working towards other endeavors--including pursuing ministry and starting classes for medical billing and coding. Vinnie considered himself quite an intellect where he would enlighten you on new words and ideas.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Clifton and Erma Pope, and paternal grandparents, Irene and Alvis N. Fox, Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Diane R. Pope, and father, Alvis N. Fox, Jr. Vinnie will be missed by his siblings: Jassmen “Jazz” Fox (Kisha) of Lincoln, CA; Raphael Fox and Yakima Fox both of Greensboro, NC. Also left to cherish his memory is his special lady friend, Brittany Surgeon; his nephews, Zayden Phillips-Fox and Jace Fox; his niece, Elani Fox; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Professional services are entrusted to Perry J. Brown Funeral Home.
