Obituary For Frances Woods

Mrs. Frances Smalley Woods departed this life on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born in Lincolnton, GA., on November 5, 1956 to the late Mr. Thearnest Smalley, Sr., and the late Mrs. Hester Blackwell Harris.

Frances was a 1975 graduate of Grimsley High School. Before retirement, she was employed for 24 years at Wesley Long Hospital. In addition, she was a co-owner of Ambiance Events Center in Greensboro, NC., where she was loved and known by everyone who frequented her establishment.

Sports-minded, Frances was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her other interests included caring for her great-grands, traveling with her family, and dining out. Truly, Frances fiercely loved her family and friends. She will be sorely missed for her beautiful smile, her quiet nature, and laid-back demeanor.

Ratliffe, and Ida Smalley Hiler; her brothers Arthur L. Soloman (Turk), Joseph Soloman, Sr. (Myrt), and Theo Smalley (Joyce); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends, whom she loved dearly and who loved her dearly.

Aunt Frances, the Diva of all Aunties. Your "star" may have dimmed here for us left behind, but I know you are shining bright as the Sun in heaven with TJ, Grandma and Granddaddy. It was speaking with you and you telling me how you stopped smoking cigarettes got me to quit smoking cigarettes, over six years ago. You will be missed greatly. Love your nephew Wesley Rankins
