Obituary For Robert "Boochie" Waller

Robert "Boochie" Waller, 84, of Willow Court, Martinsville, VA, departed this life on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at SOVAH Health-Martinsville. He was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on December 24, 1937, the son of the late Gracie Waller Martin.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dana "Duck" Hairston; his grandmother, Mary Pearl Waller, one sister, Evelyn Lonely; three brothers, Melvin Dean Waller, Willie N. "Bill" Martin, and James Waller.

Robert attended the Pittsylvania County Schools and later received his GED. He enlisted in the United States Army serving as a Military Police. He retired from Roy Stone Trucking Company after many years of service. He was a member of Bethel Way Church of Christ, Danville, VA, where he sang with the Male Chorus.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Elsie Martin Waller of the home; four daughters, Angela Waller of Danville, VA, Elizabeth (Garrett) Devins of Axton, VA, Elsie Hairston and Shirley (Lamont) Breedlove both of Martinsville, VA; three sons, Robert Waller and Barry Davis both of Danville, VA, and Richard Hairston of Martinsville, VA; one sister, Beverly W. (Isiah) Martin of Danville, VA; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Bishop John Campbell, Eulogist. Burial will follow at the Waller Family Cemetery, Riley Farm Rd., Axton, VA. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required.
