Robert Nathaniel Bailey

Knoxville - Robert Nathaniel Bailey, age 41 of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on January 6, 2022.

A native of Knoxville, Robert attended Austin East High School and visited various churches throughout his life, including Tabernacle Baptist Church and College Hills Church of Christ.

Robert was an avid student of the Bible and took courses at Hilldale Church of Christ in Clarksville and at Karns Church of Christ in Knoxville, earning certificates of recognition from the World Bible School.

Robert's favorite hymn was "Amazing Grace," and he often told his mother Ruth that "God is always listening."

Robert is remembered by friends and family as a good-hearted man whose giving heart led him to give food to the hungry and help others in need. Robert worked in restaurants as a cook, dishwasher, and cashier. When he was not at work, Robert enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping.

Robert is preceded in death by his grandmother, Estelle Williams, and grandfather, Nathaniel Williams, as well as other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by those who loved him, including his mother, Ruth Ann Bailey; father, Darryl Lynn Bailey; daughter, Alexis Bailey; sons, Robert Nathan Bailey Jr. and ShaMicha Bailey; brothers, Marland Cates of Knoxville, Vaden Bailey of Georgia, Marcus Moore of Colorado, and Zavier Moore of Washington, DC; stepsister, Tina McFall; grandmother, Juanita Grant; stepfather, Sammy Holt; and step grandmother, Ruby Mason; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Calvin Skinnner officiating.

The final resting place will be held at New Grey Cemetery immediately following the service. A white dove release will conclude in his honor.

Mr. Bailey will lie in state Friday, January 14, 2022 after noon at Unity Mortuary.
