Graveside service will be 12:00 noon EST, Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Andrew Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Hurtsboro, AL with Pastor Rencie Adams, officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 21, 2022 from 12-5 p.m. EST.
On May 7, 1962 Mr. Tommie Mack Smith, Sr. was the fourth child born to Jerry Smith, Sr. and Earlie B. James Smith. He was born in Russell County and attended South Macon High School, Roba, Alabama where he played basketball for the South Macon High Wolverines. Tommie Mack, confessed Jesus Christ as his Savior, in the early 1980’s and joined the Andrew Chapel AME Zion Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Phenequia Smith-Bell, his father, Mr. Jerry Smith, Sr., two brothers Mr. Reuben L. Smith and Mr. Robert L. Smith.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, a daughter, Jasmine Smith; two sons, Tommie Smith, Jr. and Cory Hunter all of Columbus, Georgia. A very loving mother, Mrs. Earlie B. Smith of Hurtsboro, Alabama; Twelve (12) Grandchildren; Six (6) brothers, Roosevelt Smith, Sr., Kelvin Smith, and Reginald Smith all of Hurtsboro, Alabama; Jerry Smith, Jr., of Phenix City, Alabama; Earl (Bridgett) Smith of Opelika, Alabama; and Tyrone Smith of Lithonia, Georgia. One Sister-in-law, Mrs. Berthenia Smith of Hurtsboro, Alabama. Five (5) aunts Beulah Rooks, Newark, New Jersey; Belinda Kincaid, Knoxville, Tennessee; Ethel Moore both of Hurtsboro, Alabama; Julia Ann and Laura Smith, both of Gary, Indiana; Four (4) uncles; Frank (Sharon) Smith, Pastor Arthur (Geraldine) Smith, and Joseph Smith all of Gary, Indiana; Eddie (Marlene) Smith of Hammond, Indiana. Six (6) nephews; Six (6) nieces; and Fifteen (15) great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives, family, and friends.
