Ellis Lamar Holden, Sr. was born on October 10, 1960 to the late William Robert Holden, Sr. and Sarah Maxwell Holden. He was the fifth of five children.
Ellis was educated in the Brooks County School System. He loved football so much till he was nick named “Mud”. He joined the military in He was employed at JSND Company in Brooks County. He married on November 13, 1981 in Augusta, Georgia in holy matrimony to Yvonne Sheree Everett Holden.
Ellis was preceded in death by his beloved parents and two sisters Alice Holden Hollis and Virgie Holden Hill.
On December 31, 2021, God called his child home to rest.
Ellis Leaves to cherish his memories his lovely kids Ricky (Mae) Holden, Natasha Holden Manning, Ellis (Neicey) Holden Jr., Danielle (William) Jones, TomeKia (Patrick) Gilyard, Sarah Contos, Mylissa McClatchey; 16 grandkids; 1 great grand Au’Niracle Manning; one sister Minerva (Frank) Golden; one brother William (Jean) Holden Jr.; mother-in-law Mary Mitchell Everett and father-in-law James Everett; two sisters-in-law Christine (Rodger) Thompson and Jean Holden; four brothers-in-law Frank Golden, Curtis (Diane) Everett, Jerome (Lisa) Everett and Norman Everett; a very special Auntie Myra James Maxwell; a great son of the family Tim Mobley; special friends better known as brothers Jimmy Lee, Cutt, Elmo, Robby, Bobby and military friends; a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, cousins and family. Friends who will truly miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11AM on the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Lawn with Rev. Bobby Christian, eulogist. A military burial will follow in Sweetfield Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel from 2PM-7PM.
