Mrs. Bertha Mae Lindsey Chambers

Mrs. Bertha Mae Lindsey Chambers, 79 years of age, went to be home with her Heavenly Father on January 11, 2022, at Atrium Health-Carolinas Medical Center, after a car accident.

Bertha was born in Chesterfield, SC on February 7, 1942, to the late Mr. Weldon Lindsey & Mrs. Henrietta McIver Lindsey.

Bertha attended the public schools of Anson County. She retired after working many years at Perdue Poultry, Rockingham, NC.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Galilee AME Zion Church, McFarlan, NC.

Mae, as she was lovingly called, was known for cooking her Holiday and Sunday meals. She would always invite people to come by and get a plate.

Bertha Mae was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Albert Chambers. To this union six children were born.

Preceding her in death are husband, Albert Chambers; two sons, Samuel Thomas Chambers and Lacy Earl Chambers; and grandson, Wendell Price Jr.

She leaves to cherish in lovely memories, her beloved children, Olivia Chambers, Wendy (Isaac) Owens Jr. and Debra Chambers all of Morven, NC, Otis (Shonda) Chambers of Wadesboro, NC. Grandchildren: Tamara Owens, Dominique McKever, Carol Olivia Hailey, Christopher Robinson, Otis Chambers Jr. and Samuel Chambers; several great grandchildren.

Sisters and Brothers: Bonnie Lindsey, Bobby (Charlie) Wilson, Louise Marshall, Curtis (Bernice) Lindsey, Freddie (Nancy) Lindsey, Carol (Rayford) Johnson, Linda (Reginald) Lindsey, and Lesley Love.

Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Arthur Chambers, Betty (Zedek) Woodburn, Brenda (James) Neal, Bessie Lindsey, Cookie Quick.

A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces; great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She leaves her memory to Octavius Wall and C. Gaddy who were just like her grandsons.

The Homegoing Services were held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, 1:00pm, Smith 's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment followed in the family plot of the Galilee AME Zion Church Cemetery, Morven, North Carolina.
