Barbara Jernigan "Barb" was born on October 30, 1953, to the late Mr. Willie "Sam" Lawrence and Mrs. Hester Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her amazing husband of decades Mr. Albert Jernigan JR, three daughters, Sheryl D. Jernigan, Patricia Diane Jernigan, and Nicole Latasha Jernigan as well as her brother, Lester Lawrence, and sister, Hazel Leslie.

Barbara was known for her beautiful smile, kind heart that was pure as gold, and her strength like a tiger. She leaves to cherish her memories to her remaining three daughters: Alberta Jernigan, Latonya Jernigan and April Jernigan (Shoney Gresham), and her two sons: Steven Jernigan and Albert Jernigan Ill (Shontrelle Brown). She also raised several grandchildren as her own: Taneshia Hall (Desmond Hall), Demondra Pope (Shannon Hull), Devonte Pope, Ouintravious Pope (Hailey). Christopher Mitchell (Alexus Terrell), Shanquelle Jernigan (Quan), Letavion Jernigan (Louis), Ravion Jernigan (Dre), Patricia Jernigan, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one brother: Willie Lawrence Jr. (Odessa) of Minnesota, 4 sisters Jessie Chaffin of Illinois. Beatrice Lawrence (Johnny Parks) of Union Point, GA, Mary Lawrence and Dorthy Parrott of Greensboro, GA and a special friend of the family Sasha Pearl of Greensboro, GA.
