Obituary For George Henry Leslie

Deacon George Henry Leslie, Sr. was born September 6, 1943 to the late Tommie James Leslie and Gertrude Leslie.

He was educated in Greene County Public School System. George was a faithful member of Zion Wrightsville for many years. He was a member of the Greensboro Masonic Lodge 223 for over 30 years. He was employed by Wellington Mills for many years until their closing. He later retired from Quail Plantation.

He was married to the late Hazel Leslie for 58 years. To this union they were blessed with six children, one who proceeded him in death: George Henry Leslie, Jr., Regina (Darryl) Peek, Harold (Cygaina) Leslie, Victoria Miller, William (Tanesha) Leslie & Lawanda Rowland; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grands and 2 great-great grandchildren.

One brother: Tracey (Geraldine) Leslie of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters: Minnie Robbins of Crawfordville, Ga., Odessa (Willie) Lawrence of St Paul, Mn.; one brother: James Cleveland Leslie precedes him in death; sisters-in-law: Beatrice Lawrence, Mary Louise Lawrence, Dorothy Parrott of Greensboro and Jessie Chaffin of Chicago, Il and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

Our beloved Father was a hard-working man. Until his last days, he instilled the value in his family: TO LOVE GOD AND EACH OTHER.
