Annette Lynch Burnette

Annette Lynch Burnette, 80 years of age, was born March 13, 1941, in Rutherford County, NC to the late Monroe Lynch and Sarah Lynch. Annette transitioned to eternal life on January 13, 2022, at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation and Living Center under Hospice Care. She was proceeded in death by four brothers, Carl Lynch, Monroe Lynch Jr., Herman Lynch, and Mack Lynch. Three sisters, Lillian Logan, Louise Forney, and Francis Carpenter. Her great grandson, Keyshawn Jontae McCullough. Annette attended Carver High School and was a dedicated alumnus of the graduating Class of 1960. She played basketball and was a member of the Student Council. She always looked forward to attending the Bi-annual Carver All-class reunion where she revealed in the memories of the good times with her classmates. Annette was considered a staple in her home and the community. She was a homemaker for 14 years. She played a major role in caretaking for several children in the community. Annette had other gifts and talents as she was considered the community’s seamstress and beautician. On Saturdays, Annette would have a house full of neighborhood children and friends that would be in line to get their hair “hot combed.” Later in life, Annette became a Certified Nursing Assistant for 20 years. She worked and gained a beloved friend, Brenda Yelton at Colonial Manor Rest Home where they continued their friendship through the years. Annette was truly gifted with her sense of style, grace, caring for others, cooking delicious meals including her infamous cornbread and sweet tea. She expressed her love of dance as a great swing dancer at the Carver reunions, and she was a passionate Basketball enthusiast. Annette truly loved her community and in return, her community truly loved her! Annette was a loving and caring mother who dedicated her entire life to raising her five children. She was an inspiring example of true motherhood. At the age of 19, she married her childhood sweetheart, Johnny Franklin Burnette, who proceeded her in death. They were married for 35 years and had five children: Carla Delise Martin (Grayson) of Spindale, NC, Johnny A. Burnett (Delilah) of Charlotte, NC, Andrea Dawn Burnette of Forest City, NC, Tyronica Burnette Davenport of Forest City, NC, and Monica Burnette Curbeam of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Annette also had a special love for Rhahem Davenport and Jeffrey Curbeam. To her Burnette family, she loved and cherished everyone as her own family with special memories and great times through the years. Annette had several lifelong friends who she adored immensely, Cynthia Logan, Tamarria Webster, Donna Littlejohn, Martha Abrams Covington, Ulysses Miller, Earlene Stroud, Evelyn Martin, Herbert Nichols, Betty Jean Ford. Genease Miller (deceased), Hannah Thompson (deceased) and a host of other special classmates and friends.
