Obituary For Martha Regina Durham Gurley

Mrs Martha Regina Durham Gurley, 72, was born on Saturday, January 22, 1949 and departed this life on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.

Funeral service will be held at Antioch Baptist Church, 1415 Holloway St., Durham, NC on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 1:00 pm., visitation service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the funeral service at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Masks are to be worn and social distancing required at all meetings with family, and friends.

All acts of kindness are appreciated during this difficult time.

To the Durham and Gurley Family: Ms. Martha was a beautiful person. She was a wonderful grandmother to my son Rodell. I know you aren't supposed be jealous of anyone, but i was so jealous of what a wonderful cook she was. My son Rodell couldn't wait leave my house on holiday's to get to his grandmother's house because of her excellent cooking. Ms. Martha always made sure on Christmas she would purchase gifts not only for Rodell, but for all of my children. I will miss her advice and her loving ways. She will be missed. Lynda P.

To The Durham and Gurley Family......Martha was with us at Merrick Moore School.Her sister, Alice preceded her several years ago,and we were the best of friends. After the passing of Alice, Martha contacted me, and we would sit on her front porch, talking about all the old days, she would cook up a lot of foods, getting ready for her dinners that she would sell. I will miss her so much...Puncho, Kenny Lee, and Torain, keep looking up and we will always think about the good times,We will not say "GOOD BYE, BUT WE WILL SEE YOU LATER" .....THEY ALWAYS CALLED ME AUNT GLORIA.....I WILL BE HERE FOR YA'LL......LOVE ALWAYS, AUNT GLORIA
