Patricia Ann Richardson Drummond

Patricia Ann Richardson-Drummond was born August 18, 1954 in Fort Pierce, Florida, St. Lucie County, to the parents of Dothan Richardson, Jr., and Mae Pearl Lee Richardson. She was the first child of five children. Pat, as she was affectionately called, accepted Christ at an early age.

Pat attended F. K. Sweet Elementary and Garden City Elementary Schools and Fort Pierce Central Central High School, graduating in 1972. After graduating, she attended The Great Bethune-Cookman College/University in Daytona Beach Florida, where she majored in Elementary Education. Pat began her teaching career in 1975 at Lawnwood Elementary School in Fort Pierce, Florida. She later received a Master’s Degree from Nova University in Education. She later transferred to Lincoln Park Academy in 1999 as a middle school Language Arts teacher. She was a stern and loving teacher who cared deeply for her students. In 2006, Pat retired from the St. Lucie County School District after a 31-year stellar career. She thoroughly enjoyed being retired and enjoyed the company of her “Retired Friends” group who met regularly at each other’s homes.

Pat has been married to Kenneth Drummond since December 1991 and to this union they were blessed with one son, Javan Drummond. At an early age, she joined the old Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church on 11th Street, under the leadership of Elder S. P. Kilpatrick and served in the choir and other auxiliaries in the church. She later joined Goodwill Presbyterian Church for a short time when her son was young. Pat moved her membership back to Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Charles Hendley where she served faithfully until her passing. She served in Choir #1 and on the Pastor’s Aid Committee. She loved her church and her family, and enjoyed worshiping the Lord and good singing. Pat was a great cook and catered events on the Treasure Coast and in Palm Beach. Pat was a giving person and always one to help when a need arose. She, along with her friend and catering partner, Ruth McGill, would prepare meals at their own expense and deliver them to elderly and sick members of the community in need of a good hot meal.

In addition to her love of cooking, Pat loved SHOPPING and DRESSING!! She had a knack of putting an outfit together with all the Bling and Accessories that produced a well put-together look that garnered rave compliments everywhere she went.

Pat was an active/ founding member of the Fort Pierce Bethune-Cookman College/University Alumni Association, serving many years as President. She was also an active member of the Fort Pierce Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., initiated in the Spring of 1998. She has served as Treasurer and Financial Secretary and on numerous committees of her Beloved Sorority. She was also a member of the Treasure Coast Chapter of Jack and Jill of America since 1994 and was currently enjoying the status of Associate Jewel with a 20+ years of Life Membership. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Dothan Richardson, Jr., and Mae Pearl Lee Richardson-McCarty, grandparents Dothan Richardson, Sr., and Irene Richardson and Dewey and Mamie Lee.

She leaves loved ones to cherish the memories of her loving and caring life: Husband: Kenneth Drummond (Fort Pierce, FL), Son/Daughter-in-law: Javan Drummond and his loving wife, Chantal Coutain-Drummond (Ft. Lauderdale, FL). Siblings: Rev. Dothan Richardson, III (Orlando, Florida), Michael Richardson (Atlanta, GA), Timothy Richardson (Fort Pierce, FL) and Selina Richardson (Orlando, FL). Nieces/Nephews: Dothan Richardson, IV (Pahokee, FL), Daneca Wright (Jacksonville, FL), Dontrell Richardson (Orlando, FL), Christian Richardson (Charlotte, NC), Yamir Richardson (Orlando, FL), Aking Ishmael and Aaminah Ishmael, both of (Atlanta, GA). Great Nieces/Nephews: Danesha Stanley, Samuel Stanley, Azalea Wright and Jamari Hector, all of (Jacksonville, FL). Goddaughters: Imani McGill (Atlanta, GA), Taylor McKenzie (Fort Pierce, FL). Aunt: Bernice Eliga (Fort Pierce, FL). Brother-in-law: Van Drummond (Tampa, FL), Sister-in-law: Mary Faison (Winter Haven, FL). Nephew-in-law: Jonathan Faison (Olivia) (Fort Pierce, FL). A host of cousins, family members and friends. Special Friends: Betty Prince, Ruth McGill, Mamie Davis (cousin), Jocelyn Smith-McCarver, Marylin Pryor, Cassandra Kitt and Mother Gwen Hendley.

Public visitation for Patricia Ann Drummond will take place on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Greater Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL. A Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Greater Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
