Pastor Jacob Parker January 26, 1929 - January 19, 2022

Macon, Georgia - Pastor Jacob Parker entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Graveside service for Pastor Parker will be 2:00PM Monday, January 24, 2022 in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Pastor Parker was born on January 26, 1929 in Macon, Georgia to Robert Parker Sr., and Amanda Emery Parker. He received his education from the Bibb County School System. He attended LaSalle University in Chicago, Illinois, where he received a degree in Business Administration. Pastor Parker continued his studies at the American Baptist Theological Center where he received a degree in Theological Studies.

Pastor Parker retired from service with Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia. He devoted his life in service to the Lord, faithfully serving as Pastor of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church for forty-nine (49) years before being named Pastor Emeritus. Pastor Parker previously served several other churches in the Middle Georgia area.

Pastor Parker was also the first African American radio announcer at WFPM in Fort Valley, GA, and was a recording artist in his own right, recording several gospel songs.

Pastor Parker was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Larry B. Parker and grandson, Rev. Brandon Parker.

Pastor Parker is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two (62) years, Annie Ruth; his son, Richard H. Deane, Esq.; his daughters; Belinda Parker, Barbara Parker, Esq. and Dr. J. Annette Parker-Herriott (Jeffrey); his grandchildren; Nikkia Deane, SPC. Richard H. Deane III, Jonathan Deane, Austin Herriott, Jaelyn Herriott, Sean J. Parker, Megan Parker-Yancey (Ray); fifteen great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives.

The family hopes to plan a public memorial service when conditions permit.
