Ms. Sadie Mitchell, 77, of Phenix City, AL passed Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Phenix City, AL.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Monday, February 7, 2022 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Michael Mitchell, officiating. There will be no public visitation.

Ms. Sadie Mitchell entered this life on March 31, 1944 to the late Jessie and Alice Mitchell in Russell County, Alabama. She departed this life to receive her heavenly reward on January 29, 2022.

She was educated in the Russell County School System, and graduated from South Girard High School. She later earned a degree from the Chattahoochee Valley Community College.

She completed multiple certified nursing training courses in the United States Army, followed by working 47 years as a nurse at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, GA. She was well decorated for her unswerving dedication and with many honors and awards.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Antioch Baptist Church, Seale, Alabama. She has worked as a Servant Leader in the Kingdom of God providing a helping hand to many people throughout her life. She generously supplied for the needs to a host of people.

Affectionately called "Mitch", she was a friend and confidant to many. Sadie loved life and loved the people who surrounded her. She had a special way that would always light up the room keeping lively and bubbly. You never saw her down, even when things weren’t going well. Her Faith was always "I'm Fine". She meant what she said and said what she meant.She had a heart of gold and blessed whoever encountered her. Sadie's resilient and vibrant spirit motivated everyone in her presence and we will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Alice Mitchell; three brothers, Rev. Jessie Mitchell, Jr., David L. Mitchell and Deramus Mitchell, Sr.; six sisters, Ella Steele, Betty Mae Lewis, Daisy Lee Abron, Fannie Mitchell, Leola Gillespie and Alice B. Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sisters, Jessie. B. Moses of NewYork, NY and Minnie Thomas of Fort Mitchell, AL; two special friends, Sherry Lark and Lillie Cambric of Columbus, GA; her covenant circle of friends with whom she had a special bond, Julia Mitchell (sister-in-law) and Gertrude Smith of Fort Mitchell, AL; the trio known as the Golden Girls who watched out for and checked up on each other; two sisters-in- law, one brother-in-law and a host of devoted nephews, great nephews, nieces, great nieces, one aunt, two uncles and a large number of relatives and friends.
