Obituary For Eugene Orr, Sr.

Estill, South Carolina (Newtown Community)

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." II Timothy 4:7-8

Eugene Orr, Sr. was born to the late Isiah Orr and the late Bessie Jenkins Orr on October 18, 1945, in Hampton County, South Carolina.

"Gene" as he was affectionately called was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina. Gene had a personality like no other. He had a smile that could brighten any room. Gene was loved and adored by everyone.

Eugene was self - employed for numerous years as a mechanic. He could fixed any part of a vehicle. As time passed Eugene became employed with Tyson Motors, and Oceanwood Landscaping. He later became employed with Elliott Sawmill as a Machine Operator, where he later retired.

He was united in holy matrimony to the late Mary Lee Orr.

God called our beloved Eugene from to labor to reward on Friday, January 28, 2022, at MUSC Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina.

In addition, to his beloved wife and his parents, he is preceded in death by: (3) Brothers and (7) Sisters.

Those left to mourn yet rejoice in his legacy are: (1) Special friend who was very dear to his hear: Lillian Wright; (4) Children: James (Mary Etta) Brown, Varnville, SC; Sandra (Shawn) Greene, and Elaine (Lee) Rice; Eugene Orr II, all of Estill, SC; (2) Sisters: Rev. Dr. Lillie Rose (David) Walker, Varnville, SC; and Vivian (Jerry) Gordon, Columbia, SC; (3) Brothers: Willie (Sara) Orr, Sr., Hampton, SC, Benjamin (Vera) Orr, Estill, SC, and Rev. Glenn (Debra) Orr, Aiken, SC; (13) Grandchildren; (22) Great-Grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
