Even though I didn't know Charles very well I was around him enough to know that he was a wonderful Christian man. Hilda was very blessed to have him in her life. No doubt she found her soulmate in Charles. My family loves Hilda & if she loved someone, that was good enough for us. Kay H. Poplin

I always felt that Charles was a part of our family from the time I was a small child and he a young man when he married into our family. I loved him and his parents Okee and Tricks. He has always been so nice to everyone and a joy to see from time to time on visits back home. Love to his wife and all his children and grandchildren, who will surely miss his kind spirit greatly. Mr. Charles was a great friend to me and my family. He and Ms Hilda "adopted me " as one of their own. I enjoyed the talks and laughter we shared while I did some things for him on their house. Mr. Charles always made my day when I saw him. He was just a precious soul to be around. I love him and Ms. Hilda very much. I will certainly miss him being there keeping me laughing and smiling when I visit Ms. Hilda. Praying for all the family especially Ms. Hilda.

Brother Charles will truly be missed by all who knew him. Words can't convey the love and respect I have for him. He was my deacon while Pastoring Pentecost Chapel, but our friendship went way back before that. I've been with him and Sister Hilda on many occasions and he was always a Light and and example for the Lord He served. May it comfort each of you to know that He fought the fight well and kept the faith. He has now seen His Savior face to face, waiting for each of us to finish our journey. The joy and love that he freely gave will never be forgotten. My love, prayers and sympathy to you all!!! Brenda Vandiver

Mr. Charles was a fine Christian man. He and Ms. Hilda took me on several trips to north Georgia mountains and we would eat at the Cottage house. We would go eat at Ingles in Washington and they would not have it any other way but to buy my lunch. One time after surgery I needed my medicine and I couldn't go get it and Brian and Justin were working so who but Mr Charles and Ms. Hilda picked it up and brought it to me and would not take any money from me to pay them back or for gas. Just a few of his kind great deeds. I enjoyed every minute I ever spent with him and Ms. Hilda and I loved spending Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving with them and their family. Wonderful memories I will always cherish of him. I can't wait to see you in Heaven Mr. Charles. We will take care of Ms. Hilda for you. Love you, Pam
