Ms. Stella Mae Thompson, peacefully transitioned on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at White Oak Manor Nursing Center in Shelby, NC. She was born on June 3, 1949 to the late Haywood Thompson, Sr. and Eunice Allen Thompson.

Stella worked for Spindale Mill in Lawndale, NC for many years until her health declined.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Thompson; her siblings, Aileen Spikes, Dorris Thompson, Bobby Thompson and Haywood Thompson, Jr and four nephews, Gregory Spikes, Stanley Spikes, Timmie Thompson and Franklin Thompson.

Stella leaves to cherish fond memories to her son, Robert Thompson (Tracey Barnes) of Gastonia, NC; granddaughter, Tameka Burris of Gastonia, NC; grandson, Najee Garcia Thompson of Inman, SC; siblings, her twin, Ella Thompson of Shelby and Norris Thompson (Selena) of Gaffney, SC; a special niece, Daniella Davis (Michael) of Shelby; additional nieces, Carolyn Williams and Sandra Dowdle (James) both of Shelby, Pamela Rollins of Hickory, NC, Elaine Thompson, Mickaela Davis, Tatiyonna Davis and Miya Davis all of Shelby and Bridgett Howell (Forrest) of Gafney, SC; nephews, Michael Davis, Jr., Miguel Davis, Roderickes Davis, Trevis Davis and Marquis Cherry all of Shelby; special cousin, Scott Oglesby and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ms. Thompson may be viewed on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 9:00 until 12:00 Noon at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel.
