In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister Diane Fleming.
Veronica was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School class of 1970. She was a member of the Meadowview AME Church in Martinsville, VA, where she was a minister, missionary, Sunday school superintendent, and served on the stewardess board.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include: her husband, James Larry Hale of the home; two daughters, LePonda Bradshaw (TJ) of Greensboro, NC, and Petola Moyer of Martinsville, VA; her mother Elfreda Wright Oliver of Martinsville, VA; one sister, Edie (Eugene) Jackson of Detroit, MI; two brothers, Thurmond Oliver of Martinsville, VA, and Myrus Oliver of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Veronica will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Hairston Memorial Chapel. The interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, VA. A public viewing will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The family will receive friends at 2512 Stoney Mountain Rd, Martinsville, VA 24112 at all other times. In accordance with CDC a face covering, and social distancing will be required.
