Hycord Kinard

11/14/1962 - 02/03/2022

Hycord Hyacinth Kinard was born on November 14, 1962, in Hastings, Florida to the late Mary Bradshaw Kinard and Willie Lee Frazier. Regarded as and loved by Hycord like a father was the late Robert (Hattie) Brady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Urel Ladler, Jr.

He received his education through the St. Johns County Public School System, attending Walter E. Harris, Hastings Elementary and Hastings Jr/Sr High Schools. Hycord earned his GED & graduated from St. Augustine Vocational Center in 1980 earning his certification in Construction Trades. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Hastings under the leadership of Reverend Gregory James.

Hycord was a man of many talents and many skills. He was what you call a hard worker. As a boy and into early adulthood he worked as a Farm Laborer travelling to states along the east coast for seasonal farm work.

Hycord lived most of the 1990’s in Dover, Delaware. While in Dover he was a married man and he held several jobs. He was employed at the Con-Agra Poultry Farm processing division and at the Dover Air Force Base as a contract construction worker. After more than 7 years, Hycord decided that he could no longer deal with the harsh Delaware winters. He and his wife agreed to amicably part ways and he returned home to Hastings, Florida.

Back in Hastings Hycord worked several jobs before landing at Oliver & Dahlmer Equipment Company in 2006. While at the Company he performed many different assembly jobs over the course of his tenure. Hycord was a dedicated worker and a valued employee. He remained at Oliver & Dahlmer Equipment Company until his failing health forced him to retire in 2018.

Hycord was much more than an employee to the Roberts family. He was a member of the Roberts family. He had a special bond with the family Matriarch, Irene, who he called mom. This special bond extended to all the Roberts children and grandchildren. Hycord and Jeffrey were especially close. Hycord loved Jeffrey and Jeffrey loved Hycord. They were brothers!

Hycord enjoyed fishing, playing chess, listening to music, hanging out with his friends and telling jokes. Most of all, Hycord enjoyed helping his family and friends in any way he could. He particularly enjoyed lending a helping hand for anything construction related.

On Thursday, February 3, God called Hycord home from Labor to Reward. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed. To cherish his many memories: a son, Arsenio Stewart; sisters, Althree (Joe Edwards) Kinard, Etoy Kinard, Breacya Kinard, Almazine Trowell; brothers, Jeffrey Roberts, Michael Jackson; cousins, Hildegard Felder, Theophilus Jackson, James Jackson, Loretta Jackson, Hortensia Jackson; nieces & nephews, Zaben Kinard, Raymond Evans Jr, Camry Nottingham, Marcus Nottingham, Clifford Calloway Jr, Gregreatta Evans, Jasmine Kinard, Clarence Sumrall, Candi Evans, Gerald Evans, Chavius Maree, Vincent Maree; Special Friends; Pete Ford, Tony Campbell, Steve Dewitt, Ronald Jones, Joanne Simpson; God-son, JaKame Lewis; and a host of other family and friends.
