Obituary For Leroy Mitchell, Jr.

Leroy Mitchell, Jr. made his heavenly transition on February 8, 2022. He was a beloved father and son.

Leroy was born August 6, 1972, in Mound Bayou, MS to Mrs. Willie Pearl Slaughter and Leroy Mitchell Sr. He graduated from Moss Point High School in 1991. He attended Alcorn State University where he played football.

Leroy was loved by many. In his spare time, he enjoyed hobbies such as fishing and working on his old school car. He had a love of hats and would always put on his best hat for the day.

He was preceded in death by his father Leroy Mitchell Sr. and his step-father John W. Slaughter Sr.

He is survived by his mother Willie Pearl Slaughter. Four daughters Gabrielle Harper (Gabby), Shamaria Sanders (Mari), Leah Mitchell, and Raquel Monroe. Two grandchildren Ari Mills and Timothy Briars III. Four sisters: Yolanda Miles (Londa), Sonya Pyatt, Latoya Reed (Tasha), and Christina Williams (Tina). Two brothers: John Slaughter, and Laroy Mitchell. Two special uncles: Albert Mitchell and Freddy Lee. A special cousin Albert Jr. Mitchell. A host of uncles, cousins, and many friends.

A public viewing and memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Robinson's Friendly Funeral Home Chapel, 4301 Main Street, Moss Point, MS, beginning at 10 am., followed by the memorial service at 11 am.
