Kavari (Doji) Deontez Tabray Degree was born in Shelby to Eric and Ashley Degree on May 22, 2003. Kavari gained his wings on Feb 13 2022.

Kavari was a member of Green Bethel Baptist Church of Boiling Springs, NC. Kavari graduated from Burns High School in 2021, later to attend Whittier College in Whittier, California. Kavari was a former employee of Walmart of Cherryville, NC and currently employed at McDonald’s of Cherryville, NC. Kavari loved spending everyday loving his family, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family. Kavari had a strong love for animals of all kinds. Kavari took his love for animals to college, majoring in Marine Biology.

He is preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents Melvin and Dorothy Hosch Sr. and William Phillips. He is also preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents Jake and Maude Degree, Pat and Mandy Peters, and aunts Candida Hosch and Gina Peterson.

Kavari leaves behind many loved ones including his parents Eric and Ashley Degree; brothers Ke’Andre and Ke’vonte Degree of the home, Montreal Wray; sisters Latifah Degree, Deisha Wray, Alexis Hall, and Markeebra Taylor; grandparents, Fred and Beatrice Degree, Kay Phillips, and Michael Hosch Sr. all of Shelby, NC and a host of aunts, uncles including special uncles Deshawn Phillips and Antwan Addison, nieces, nephews, and friends are also left here to cherish his fond memory.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Green Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:30 PM on Saturday and at other times at 126 Thompson Drive, Kings Mountain, NC.
