Obituary For Sammie Carter

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." II Timothy 4:7-8

Sammie Lee Carter, affectionately known as "Robin" was born to Roberta Carter and the late Andrew Cohen on November 6, 1973, in Allendale County, South Carolina.

He attended the public schools of Allendale County. At an early age, he confessed Christ as his Savior and became a baptized member of St. Luke Baptist Church, Fairfax, South Carolina. He later became a member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church, Fairfax, South Carolina. He served faithfully until his health declined.

After graduating, from high school, Sammie relocated to Cartersville, GA. where he became employed with Furniture Mart as a fork lift operator. He returned to Fairfax, SC and became employed with J & J Farms as a material handler. Sammie later became employed with Dollar General, Fairfax, South Carolina as a stocker. He worked until his health began to declined.

Sammie loved to play football and basketball. He was a father, son, brother, and friends to all he knew. He was loved by everyone. Sammie could socialize with anyone and it didn't matter if he knew them or not. He never met a stranger. Sammie loved to laugh and make jokes. He had a personality like no other. Sammie also enjoyed fishing with family and friends.

Sammie departed this life on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Memorial Health, Savannah, Georgia. As he enters his new life, he will be greeted with love from his father: Andrew Cohen, maternal grandparents, Luther and Janie Carter and paternal grandparents, Cleveland Frank Williams and Pauline Cohen.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: loving mother; Roberta Carter; of the home; (1) Daughter: Aaliyah Carter, Barnwell, SC; (1) Son: Jahlian Carter, Barnwell, SC; (2) Sisters: Lila Carter, Atlanta, GA, and Jennifer Bates, North Augusta, SC; (2) Brothers: Frank (Colita) Carter, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Willie (Gloria) Carter, Fairfax, SC; (7) Nieces and Nephews: Latreika (David) Jones, Staffon Carter, Farqua Carter, Shanera Carter, Ladarius Carter, La'Quan Ogletree, and LaP'aris Flowers: (3) Aunts: Mary Habersham, Harriett (Terry) Haynes and Gerladine Cohen; (1) Uncle: Peter Tony Carter. A host of loving cousins and sympathizing friends.
