A LEGACY OF LOVE AND HONOR

Henry Harrison Chrisco was born on July 19, 1930 in Asheboro, North Carolina to the late Daphne and Boyd Chriscoe, Sr. He was the younger of two boys. On February 18, 2022 God in his Infinite Wisdom called Harrison to His Heavenly Kingdom.

He was educated in the public schools in Asheboro, N.C. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army where he served two tours of duty. He served his second tour of duty in Korea where he became a prisoner of War and assumed “DEAD.” Upon the patriation of the prisoners of war, his mother and some of the family members witnessed his release on CBS news.

He was employed by Paramount Studios as a sound engineer. After moving to New York, he worked as a policeman for the New York City Police Department in Harlem for 20 years. He then worked at Studio 54 also as a sound engineer. While at Studio 54, he met several celebrities. Among them were Cab Calloway, Donna Summers, Grace Jones, Ronald Rogers and his group Chic, and Donald Trump and his father. Because he loved to travel, he began his next venture at Caretta Trucking Company. While there, he was afforded the opportunity to purchase his own 18 wheeler. He drove long distance all over the United States hauling a plethora of cargo for 18 years. His love for driving continued with the Guilford County Schools as a bus driver from 1998 to 2013. He maintained himself as a licensed driver until shortly before his demise.

Family was very important to Harrison. As historian and patriarch of the family, he often told many stories of the Chriscoe ancestry remembering all their names. At age 91, he prided himself with current events from CNN and MSNBC. He was definitely a people’s person who never met a stranger. His generosity spoke volumes to his character and love for family and friends.

Harrison professed his faith at an early age and remained an active member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ Greensboro, NC serving in many capacities until his declining health.
