Mr. James Alexander Thurman, known to many as "Duck", departed this life on February 18, 2022. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 25, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at The Chapel of Donald Trimble Mortuary. Pastor Joseph Gbolahan, Officiating, Eulogist. Interment, Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.

Mr. Thurman was born on July 25, 1928, in the Independent City of Petersburg, Virginia, to Oscar H. Thurman and Pearl Mickens-Thurman, in which he is preceded in death, along with his siblings, Geraldine, Oscar, Jr. "Dickey Boy", Doris Thurman "Lil Doris", and Anna Thurman-Lee "Tiny". Mr. Thurman leaves to cherish 10 children, Hildegarde Thurman, Edith Greer Avery (Bloise), Abigail Yawn, Adil Muhammad, Nadirah Sabir (Eaustria), Jamil Muhammad, Kim Flowers (Jerry), Rashad Muhammad (Amina), Sharon Gbolahan (Pastor Joseph), Karen Mincy (Crover); 37 grandchildren, as well as great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the mortuary Friday, at 12:30 P.M.
