Obituary For Naomi Braswell Tennyson

Mrs. Naomi Braswell Tennyson, Augusta, Georgia departed this life Sunday February 20, 2022 at an Augusta hospital. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, 0222 at 11:00 A.M. at Neeler A.M.E. Church cemetery, Davisboro, Georgia. Public viewing will be held Friday, from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. Mrs. Tennyson was a native of Washington County born to the parentage of the late John Albert Braswell and Nannie Lue Brinson Braswell. She attended Jefferson County School System in Bartow, Georgia. She was employed in food service at Fort Gordon, Georgia for several years before her retirement. In 1961 she married the late Leslie Jean Tennyson, Sr. Naomi was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, her flowers, fishing and children. She loved the children so much until she started her own daycare. Her heart was always filled with love and she to ended every conversation was β€œI Love You”. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Clayton Tennyson, Sr and one brother, Gus Warthen, She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her children: Joe Albert (wife, Mary Ann) Braswell, Sr., Wadley, GA, Leslie Jean Tennyson, Jr., Augusta, GA, Jacqueline Tennyson, (devoted caretaker), Grovetown, GA , Prudence Tennyson, Augusta, GA, and Cheryl Gibbons, Savannah, GA; twenty two grandchildren, two sisters, Rosa Mae Brown, Wadley, GA, Ruth Hill, Augusta, GA; her step children, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
