Tallahassee - Willie J. Hammett, 75, was called home Feb. 24, 2022. He was retired from Florida State University.

Graveside service will be 12 Noon Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 9 am to 6 pm. Services may be viewed via https://youtu.be/Xb6m7U8k02w

He is survived by his wife, Valarie Bell Hammett; two daughters, Tisha Gillette and Amani Hammett; a son, Douchon Hammett; two sisters, Ida Mobley and Betty Harris (Lee); 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
