Ms. Patricia Ann Parks, of Kingstown NC, she departed this earthly home March 6, 2022 at Hospice Wendover Shelby, NC. She was born on November 9th,1960 in Shelby, NC to the late Edward Parks and Florrie Parks Sims. Patricia was a graduate of Burns High School and Kings college of Charlotte NC. where she received an AA office systems/office administration degree. After college, she moved to Hartford, Connecticut, where she worked for Aetna Insurance as underwriter/secretary. She also worked in the office of the commissioner for the State Connecticut as an administrative of the Affirmative Action Department. Patricia moved back to Cleveland County to be near her family and attended her home church (Community Baptist) where she sang in the choir, led the praise team and spearheaded the food ministry. She was instrumental in grant writing and 501(c)3 filing status. She always did the work in the background, never wanted to be in the spotlight. She had a heart for the young people and always gave advice and encouragement with wise words.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Paul Thomas Peeler and Steven Lee Peeler ,maternal grandparents Zone and Frances Peeler, and Maternal grandparents Eddie and Lillie Miller Parks one granddaughter (Serenity Parks). Left to cherish her memories are a daughter Shanyka Parks (Kingstown, NC), three sons: William and Tavis Parks (Lawndale, NC), and Marquette Parks (Kingstown, NC). One sister; Shirley Leslie,(Odell) two nieces; Tomeka Leslie of Asheville NC and Evangelist Sonya Chalk (Melvin) one nephew Kendrick Leslie (Mozine) of Rocky Mount NC Her grandchildren; Candace, Briana, Elise, Joshua, Kyree, and Jadarius. One aunt Emma Parks, two special cousins; Phoebe Covington of Hickory NC , Tisan Singleton of Gastonia NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Lawndale. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM and at other times 713 Yelton Drive Lawndale, NC. Masks are required if attending the service.
