Harold Cy Jewell, 96 of Bowie, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022.

Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14th, at the First Baptist Church of Bowie, with Pastor Mike Henson officiating.

Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 13th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.

Harold was born April 2, 1925 on Granfield, OK to Frank Sr. and Ruby (Suitor) Jewell. Harold married his sweetheart, Juanita Cox on August 20, 1948, in Denver City, TX, where he worked for Service Pipeline. He stayed with the same company for 46 years.

Harold was a gentle soul who was a family man through and through. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to keep his yards and gardens green and flourishing. Not a man of many words, but he said many times that he learned more by listening. His 6 grandchildren have many precious memories of spending the summer time with ”Papa and Grandma” at the lake, which has resulted in each following generation coming to “Papa and Grandma’s”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Juanita Jewell and daughter-in-law Beth Jewell.

Harold is survived by his daughter Patti Glass and husband Kenneth of Bowie; son Larry Jewell of Irving, TX; 6 grandchildren Chris Glass and wife Beckey, Phillip Glass and wife Maggie, Scott Glass and wife Jennifer, Audrey Canady and husband Greg, Matt Jewell and wife Patti and Kyle Jewell and wife Jenny; great-grandchildren Jessie Glass, Joshua Glass, Ian Mixon, Taylor Mixon, Kendell Hayward, Ethan Glass, Carter Glass, Zachary Canady, Ryan Canady, Logan Canady, Piper Canady, Hudson Jewell, Hendricks Jewell, Kyle Benson, Kate Benson, Lake Jewell and Lydia Jewell; and great-great-grandchildren Kason Glass, Titus Glass, Leighton Mixon and Lorelai Harvey.
