Obituary For Brother Arthur Henry Herring, Jr. "Blue"

Mr. Arthur Herring, affectionately called Blue, gained his heavenly wings on March 11, 2022 at Jackson Hospital. He was 66 years of age.

He leaves precious memories with children, Kendrick Highsmith of Greenwood, Florida, Tory Herring of Kissimmee, Florida, Brandy Highsmith John and husband Corey of Marianna, Florida, Brandon Herring and wife Tanisha of Donaldsonville, Georgia, Carlton Herring of Marianna, Florida and Danielle Herring of Cottondale, Florida; siblings, Deacon Wayne Herring and wife Regena of Marianna, Florida and Pastor Jennifer Gardner of Cottondale, Florida; grandchildren, Takia Herring, Kayveyonna Herring, Odonahven Johnson, Genesis Sherrod, Oriyah Johnson, Jamier Herring and Braelyn Herring; great grandchild, Kayomi Spencer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Solemn Farewell will be held Saturday, March 26th at 11:00a.m. at New Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Gregory Gathers and Rev. Maurice Herring officiating. Interment will follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.

To The Herring Family, Blue surely will be missed by his neighbors and neighborhood. As we know he loved to ride his bicycle all over the neighborhood. But after a while we'd see him walking. When asked "where's your bike, his reply was, "it's broken." The next time you see him he was riding a small bike which was too small but he managed it. Then after a while I didn't see him much. I'd go around the corner to check on him. He'd tell me, "today is not a good day." He didn't have to say it but I knew he was in pain. I aways asked, you need anything and sometimes he'd say, "I'm okay or alright." Other times he'd say bring me a snack or some coffee. Blue was a very independent person who you had to asked several times to do something for him. As his health declined he would reach out more. He always had a good sense of humor no matter how he felt. Blue, I can imagine you're riding around in heaven on your bike. No more pain, no more sickness but peace, love, joy and riding a heavenly brand new bike that never breaks down. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
