Loving, funny and giving are just a few words that best described a man that those in Talladega would see driving a beat up greenish-blue Ford F150 truck. Upon approach, you would be greeted by his slightly crooked smile coupled with a joke or a kind word. This man was the oldest son born to Acie Truss and Bernell Suttle Moten in Talladega, Alabama. On February 1, 1953, the world greeted the baby boy that would come to be known as Randy James Suttle.

Although Randy never made a formal commitment to a church, he developed a relationship with God and would attend Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church throughout the years. Randy was raised and educated in the Talladega community. After the passing of his mother at an early age, being the oldest son, Randy decided it was time for him to become a man. He unselfishly chose to leave school and began working to help care for his younger siblings. He found employment with various companies, but found a home working in the maintenance department for the Talladega Housing Authority. After leaving the housing authority, Randy would often be seen performing odd jobs around the community for family members and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting just to name a few of his favorite past times.

On March 15, 2022, Randy brought great sadness to family and friends. He left his earthly home and joined in eternity: his parents, Acie Truss and Bernell Moten; and two siblings, Brenda Suttle and Kim Suttle.

The legacy that Randy leaves behind includes: three children, LaKosha Whitson of Oxford, Alabama, Randy “Terry” Groce of Birmingham, Alabama and Randricka “Shay” (Kenneth) Jemison of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; six grandchildren, Quivion Herring, Corvarius White, Shuntasia Calhoun, Christian Jemison, Carter Gaston and Zola Jemison; six children that he raised as his own, Tia Millender, Tawana Millender, Shaquandra Millender, George Castleberry, Christopher Grey and Jerrod Tanner, all of Talladega, Alabama; eight siblings, Debra (Alan) Wills of Eastaboga, Alabama, Phyllis Moten and Darryl Suttle of Talladega, Alabama, Mervin “Danny” Suttle of Gainesville, Florida, Eula Truss (Jerome Barclay), Sharon Truss and Jerry Truss of Talladega, Alabama; one uncle, James (Mattie) Suttle of Tampa, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
