Obituary For Sammie Lee Anderson

Sammie Lee Anderson, 62, entered eternal rest Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his home. Sammie, affectionately known as “Sam” to his family and close friends was born on March 13, 1960 in York County, South Carolina to the late J.W. Anderson and Nancy Stevenson Anderson.

Sammie was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. He served as Chairman of the Trustee Board, member of the Brotherhood and was immensely helpful with church projects.

Sammie was educated in the York County School System. He was a 1978 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He was a 1983 graduate of the University of South Carolina.

Sammie retired from Kanawha Insurance Company after many years of service.

Sammie leaves to cherish wonderful memories three sisters, Janie Marion Anderson of the home, Barbara Witherspoon (James) of Lancaster, SC and Geraldine Nichols (George) of Rock Hill, SC; three brothers, Stevie Anderson (Margaret) and Ernest Anderson both of Rock Hill, SC and James William Anderson of Long Beach, CA; three uncles: Ernie Stevenson of Morristown, NJ, Willie Stevenson of East Orange, NJ and David Lee Stevenson of Rock Hill, SC; one aunt, Sadie Walls of Rock Hill, SC; one special God Sister, Jacqueline Orr Anthony of Rock Hill, SC; five nieces, Kimberly, Shireen, Tiffany, Jacqueline and Stephiane; four nephews: Reggie, Marcus, Ernest Jr. and Antonio; great-nieces; great-nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2022, at Flint Hill Baptist Church, 1214 Flint Hill Street, Rock Hill, SC. Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Christopher E. Harris and Rev. Alvis Yates with burial in the Barber Memorial Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon.

The family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Clemons - McCray Funeral Home in Rock Hill, SC.
