Obituary For James Smyre, Sr.

A Celebration of Life for James Ray Smyre, Sr; 74, of Anniston, Alabama will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at World Alive International Outreach.

On March 16, 2021, at 5:57 AM, James Ray Smyre Sr. transitioned to his final home of rest with the Lord. As a resident of Anniston for 32 years, he retired from the US Army in 1992, and then became the JROTC instructor at Anniston High School, retiring from there in June 2017. He was a loyal servant of the Habitat for Humanity of Calhoun County and a long-standing member of Word Alive International Outreach.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Robin R. Gipson-Smyre, and their two children, Ashley Nicole Smyre and Phillip Mikal Smyre, as well as his first-born, son James Ray Smyre Jr.
