Funeral service will be 12:00 noon EST, Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Franchise Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Raymond Cochran, officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Mrs. Lizzie M. Clark was born July 4, 1942 in Russell County, AL to the late Fred Dixon, Sr and Bennie Lee Dixon. She entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Mrs. Clark attended Central Girard Elementary School at an early age and then furthered her education at South Girard High School Class of 1959. She joined Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early age and then later joined Franchise Missionary Baptist Church after marrying the love of her life – her husband, Joe L. Clark. They were married for 57 beautiful years. Mrs. Clark worked for Fieldcrest Mills, retired from Sears and McBride School at Ft. Benning, GA.
She enjoyed studying her Bible, attending church Worship, Sunday School, visiting the sick and shut-in to uplift their spirits and helping those in need. She loved the Lord and her family.
She is preceded in death by by two brothers; Fred Dixon, Jr. (Marion Nell) and Leo Dixon; aunts, Charsie Watkins, Florida Stickney, Katie Rutledge, Fannie Mae Bailey, Ethel Walker (Arthur), Minnie Langley, Dora Bell Long, Ruthie Mae Smith and Lizzie Woods; uncles, Russell McCoy, Emmett McCoy, Roddie Lewis and Alfred Stickney.
Surviving yet feeling an incredible loss is Mrs. Clark’s husband, Deacon Joe L. Clark, Phenix City, AL; one daughter, Renoda A. (Tina) Youngblood; two granddaughters, Chadney Mitchell, Takara A. Gamble; one great-granddaughter, Chasity Mitchell; two great-grandsons, Nicholaus Mitchell, Caleb Mitchell; four sisters, Velma House (Sam), E. Mae Simmons (Johnnie), Annie Lee Munford (Willie) and Julia Lee; godmother, Viola Kelly; special caregivers, Chanta Mizrahi and Pam White and a host of cousins and other loved ones that are to many to name.
