To my niece, Glenda, my great neice, Tracee and my great nephew, Stacy: Olan was like a tree planted by the water, stalwart in his faith in God; strong in his love for his family; and unbending in his love for my beautiful niece Glenda. I know that he is resting from his troubles in this life in the loving arms of The LORD Jesus. We will see him again because 1 John 2:17 assured us that he who does the will of God lives forever. While I wait for the coming Rapture , my prayers and love to the whole family as I grieve along with you. Aunt Kat (Kathryn)

So sorry for the loss of Mr. Olan,he has always been such a cheerful and happy person. I remember the family from me visiting St. Emmanual church over the years. His friendly face will surely be missed, in sympathy, Dorothy Emory McGarthy.

I'm at a loss of words. So grateful to have known Olan Thompson. He was caring and full of love for everyone he met. May God direct him to his new order, and comfort his family in time of their loss. "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." John 5:28,29. Grace Lott

Bro Thompson is a example of what faithfulness looks like. He mentored, he educated with his voice and most importantly his actions. He was a steady force down at St. Emmanuel Missionary Baptist church for his whole life. His humor, advice will definitely be missed. His example is a high benchmark for all to follow. God bless his wife and family in their time of bereavement. It's tough, but the comfort is he is with the Lord right now. God Bless, Damon Logan
