Obituary For Jean Elizabeth Ford

Jean Elizabeth Ford, 100, of Harrisburg, peacefully transitioned on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at home with her daughters at her side. She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of the late Fannie (Carter) Potter and the late Daniel Potter, an honor student at the former William Penn Senior High School and was a housewife and stay at home Mother. Jean attended Presbyterian Church and enjoyed reading her Bible and praying. In her leisure, she enjoyed cooking and baking cookies. Jean was the widow of James Ford and in addition to him and her parents, her sisters, Margaret Potter, Joan Smallwood Giddens, Doris Pierce, Vivienne Elby, Nancy Flynn, Clara White and Eunice Hurst; her brothers, Walter Potter and Arthur Potter preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Iris Ford, Ingrid Matthews and Barbara Waller; her sons, Richard Ford and Edsel Ford; her grandson, James Matthews, Jr. and wife, Collette Matthews; her great-granddaughters, Olivia Matthews and Juliet Matthews and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and family friends. Jean’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 5th at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home at 704 N. Front St., Steelton with viewing 10 until 11 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks for all attendees.
