Virginia Layne Starkes, 71, departed this life Wednesday, April 13, 2022. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Alfred Starkes and parents, Aurelious and Beulah Crumpton Layne. Surviving are her loving sons, Lee Spencer Jr. (Pamela), D’Juan Spencer, Okema Starkes (Dana) and Del-Rae Starkes (Jackie Allison); grandchildren, Keirra Robertson Cotman (Brad), Cameron Robertson, Detwan Scott, Keondae Spencer (Devon Settles), Keondre Spencer, Jalen Spencer, Jasmine Starkes, Jade Starkes and Jennapher Starkes; a host of great grandchildren; one sister, Linda Diane Willis; two brothers, Charles Layne and Joseph Layne; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Interment private.
