I can still easily remember how Mrs. Nelson had graciously opened the doors of her home to me for Thanksgiving in 1982. When I was a broke college student (from NJ) attending Florida A & M while running cross country/track with her son Alvin. Needless to say the kindness and warmth of affection, shown to me by the entire Nelson family, still leaves me speechless to this day. Oh by the way, I know that I'm going to be preaching to the choir when I tell you that sweet Lady can COOK!!! 😊 I was blessed to be in Waycross several weeks ago, for the dedication ceremony of The Stephens Venue. During my time there, I asked Alvin to PLEASE ensure I see your Mother before I leave town,... He replied, she's already expecting you. To which I smiled from ear to ear. Upon my arrival at her home, we conversed for a while, I then got down on one knee, gently held her left hand and kissed it to simply say thank you again for the all of the love and kindness she showed me in 1982,... Best regards to the entire family. John Tennant 🌹♥️

Glynis-- I was so very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mother. I know your heart is heavy right now, but thank God that we don't grieve as others who have no hope! Your Mother knew the Lord, and we can take comfort in that. If there is anything at all that I can do for you or the family during this difficult time, please let me know. Remember the song, "No Cross, No Crown" that you lead? Well, Ms. Maude has borne her cross, and now she has her crown. I love you dearly! Connie Tillman Augusta, Georgia

To Sister Glynis Black & Family: We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of your Mother. Please know that we are thinking of you, wishing you encouragement, and praying for your strength. Take comfort in the words of Roberta Martin: "Tho' the load, the load gets heavy, You're never left alone to bear it all; Ask for the strength and keep on toiling, Tho' the teardrops fall. You have the joy of this assurance: The heavenly Father will always answer prayer And He knows, Yes, He knows Just how much you can bear." Pastor K.B. Martin and the Antioch Church Family Augusta, Georgia
