Obituary For Glenda Glenn Hailey

Glenda Glenn Hailey, 81, of Greensboro, NC passed April 14, 2022. The family will have a public viewing and receive friends from 12:30 p.m to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel of Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with entombment following at Lake View Memorial Park, Greensboro, NC.

Glenda Routh Glenn Hailey, daughter of the late Willie James "Pa" Glenn and Odessa Viola Hood "Mema" Glenn, was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina on August 29, 1940. She departed this life on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

She attended Lattique School and Charles Drew School in Madison, North Carolina. Glenda was a lifelong learner who was passionate about politics, interior design, investing and tennis. Like her mother, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her dishes with others.

She was a member of Hayes Chapel United Methodist Church, from an early age. In later life, she was an active member of the United Methodist Women where she produced beautiful quilts as a fundraiser.

Glenda was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Clarence Hailey for 48 years and was a full-time homemaker. Three children were a blessing to this union: Gwendolyn Sherelle, Clarence Eric and Kim Avonnie.

Glenda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence and her two brothers; J. W. Glenn and Cleophus Nathaniel Glenn and her sisters; Emma Lee Gleen, Evon Broadnax, Betty Lou Glenn, Evelyn Lowe.

Glenda is survivede by her children and her grandchildren, Erica Leak, Erin Leak and her great grandchildren; Terrin Marie Wiley and Tyrell Amari Logan; her sisters; Jesse Mae Lowe of Madison, NC and Linda Ziglar of Jacksonville, FL, her brother-in-law; Dewey Lowe of Brown Summit, NC and sisters-in-law; Lois Glenn of Brown Summit, Barbara Hailey of Greensboro, NC, Luberta Hailey of Wagram, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Although the loss of their mother has been difficult, her children now realize that Mama is now walking around in heaven with her beloved husband, parents and siblings.

Ms. Glenda always had a smile on her face. Every Sunday after church, she would always tell me that she loved to hear me sing. Ms. Glenda, I want to thank you for your many kind words to me.
