Our family was saddened to hear of Rev Ceasar's passing yesterday. He officiated the wedding ceremony of our oldest son in New York more than 25 years ago.He was a friend of my late husband and supporter of our family foundation for 20 years. He and his wife traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to attend fundraisers for college scholarships: including college fairs and luncheons offered through The Spann Foundation. He was kind and encouraging to the students and their families. We will miss his humble spirit, wide smile and genuine concern for others. He will be missed. To Mrs Ceasar and Trevor, you have our deepest sympathy and prayers.God is our refuge and strength, a very pleasant help in trouble. JOHN 6:47 Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life. One sad thing about death is that it steals our loved one away. However, death does not have the victory over my beloved brother and bestest friend, Johnny L. Ceasar because the word of God says, "Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life". As sad as this moment is I must reassure Haretha and Trevor and all Rev. Ceasar's friends and family that even though he has been taken away from us in death he HAS eternal life. He BELIEVED that life should be enjoyed to the fullest. He never gave up on living. God was his option. In his final days on earth he reminded us to trust and obey God as he called a few select friends and family to do something the Holy Spirit instructed him to do: "PRAY". We did pray and it was not days afterwards that he was called to eternal peace. Rest In Peace my brother and may that Peace of God bring comfort to all your loved ones. Nefertiti and Kirton Lashley, with KJ, Cherkira, Kahlil and Kara Lashley.

To the Ceasar family: Rev. Ceasar was such a great influence to me as a young boy at Trinity UMC. I remember him taking us to the movies and piling us in his car. I also fondly remember confirmation class and he took the time to answer questions I had about the Holy Spirit. I am who I am today because of him and so many other men who poured into me. God bless his soul. Dwight Collings and Family.
