Obituary For Norman Griffin Jr.
Mr. Norman "CJ" Griffin, Jr. departed this life on Monday, April 11, 2022, in Suffolk, VA after an extended illness. CJ, as he was fondly known by all, was born on July 27, 1973, to Mr. Norman Griffin, Sr, and the late Mrs. Varetta Denise Hunt (Griffin) Pugh. He was educated in Chesapeake Public Schools and a 1992 graduate of Western Branch High School. CJ enjoyed his undergraduate experience at Norfolk State University before transitioning into the workforce. He was introduced to The Lord at an early age, and attended Zion Bethel United Church of Christ in Portsmouth, VA; there embracing the foundation of his faith that he would carry throughout his lifetime.CJ's home was filled with the joys of four handsome and energetic sons; however, he relished every moment as a proud grandfather to two beautiful grandchildren with the greatest joy. In addition to his maternal and paternal grandparents, CJ was preceded in death by his mother,Mrs Varetta "Nisey" Pugh and stepfather, Mr William Pugh. Left to forever cherish his memory and legacy are sons;Ryan Griffin. Edrick Griffin(Jeamelah), Devon Griffin, and Jaydon Griffin; father, Norman Griffin, Sr. (Emma); grandson, Nolan Griffin,, granddaughter, Heaven Griffin; along with many family member, nieghbors, and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Steele- Bullock Funeral Home from 4 pm- 7 pm; followed by a celebration of life will take place at noon on Saturday,April 23, 2022, at Zion Bethel United Church of Christ. Dallas Cowboys fan attire is welcome. We thank God for thee years He blessed us with CJ, and will always remember him with a loving and joyful heart until we meet again.
