Obituary For Larry Skinner

Mr. Larry Darnell Skinner age 47, departed this life on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Kings Mountain, NC. He was born on July 5, 1974 in Indianola, MS to the late James Lee Skinner, Sr. and the late Doris Kirkland Skinner.

Larry moved to Chicago with his family at a young age eventually moving to Port St. Lucie, FL He was a basketball player at Port St. Lucie High School and graduated from there in 1992. Larry later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Colorado Technical University. He was currently employed as a manager at Nestle Frozen Food Company in Gaffney, SC. Larry also was a licensed barber and when he was not working at Nestle, you could find him working at Sanitary Barber Shop in Shelby, NC. Although working was a focal point in his life, in his leisure time, he enjoyed playing basketball, league bowling, walking on the beach and listening to music especially from the 70’s era.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Ann Brown and two brothers, Stevie Skinner and Cornelius Skinner.

He leaves fond memories to his daughter, Zariyah Skinner of Port St. Lucie, FL; two brothers, James Skinner (Felicia) of New Braunfels, TX and Barrett Skinner of Port St. Lucie, FL; his grandmother, Ethel Tripplett of MS; nieces and nephews, Christopher Skinner, Alana Skinner, Jarsheika Kowalewski (Steve), Corey Skinner, Jaydon Skinner, China Skinner, India Skinner and Tyler Skinner; an aunt, Ruby Jean Burns of MS and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing of Mr. Skinner will take place on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 form 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel.

My condolences to my nephews, nieces and my entire family. You are in my prayers daily. I enjoyed the time I spent with him at the wedding in 2019 even though I had not seen him in years. I thank God for those moments. He was very comical. To my nephew James and niece May God continue to give you comfort and strength while you lay another love one to rest. Remember I love you all.
