Lederick Oneal Weary also known by family as “Head” was born December 16, 2002, in Gastonia, North Carolina to Frantee Hughes and Lederick Weary. He departed this earthly life on April 24, 2022, at his home in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Lederick was educated in the Gaston County School System. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, and cousin. He loved spending time with his family, playing basketball, listening to music and was a talented rapper. He was the life of the party that kept us all laughing. Lederick was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Linda Berry, and Faye Weary, grandfathers, Bobby Weary, Collins Froneberger, and uncle, Brossi Hogan.

Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his beloved parents, Frantee Hughes of Gastonia, NC, and Lederick Weary (Brandy) of Bogalusa, LA, grandmother: Daisy Froneberger of Belmont, NC; grandfather, Claude Torrence of Gastonia, NC, five brothers: Jamear Farr of Gastonia, NC, Chase Harris Weary of Gastonia, NC, Le’irik Weary of Bogalusa, LA, Braydon Weary of Bogalusa, LA, and Braylen Weary of Bogalusa, LA; five sisters: Tynesha White of Gastonia, NC, T’Andrea Farr of Gastonia, NC, La’neria Ratchford of Gastonia, NC, Phalarin Rankin of Gastonia, NC, and De’Ja Robbins of Gastonia, NC; godparents: Rev. Willie and Debra Jones of Gastonia, NC; two god-sisters: DeAndrea Jones of Winston Salem, NC and Markia Curbeam (Tyler) of Concord, NC; aunts: Shanta Hughes of Gastonia, NC, Candace Forney (Jamal) of Gastonia, NC, Troylene Bristol of Kings Mountain, NC, Angela Houser (Allen) of Gastonia, NC, Tangela Brown (Mike) of Gastonia, NC, Marquette (Andre) Williams of Dover, Delaware, and Taron Weary of Gastonia, NC; uncles: Antonio Hughes (Heather) of Gastonia, NC, Minister David Edwards of York, SC, Adrian Grier of Gastonia, NC, Xavier Weary (Markela) of Boiling Springs, SC, Bobby Weary (Shana) of Tylertown, MS, Donnell Weary (Yasmine) of Tylertown, MS, Terrell Weary (Victoria) of Bessemer City, NC and Jamal Weary of Tylertown, MS. He loved and cherished dearly his cousins and his special little man, Imir and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be at the funeral home on Friday; May 6, 2022 from 4 until 6

Funeral at the City of David Church, Gastonia on Saturday; May 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm with visitation at 1:30

Interment: Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia
