Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. EST (12 noon CST), Friday, May 6, 2022 at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, Marvyn, AL with Pastor Edward Lane, Pastor; Pastor Robert L. King, officiating.
Mrs. Brenda Lyons was born September 6, 1951 in Macon County, AL to the late Havard Walton, Sr. and the late Ola Lee Adkins White.
She attended Sandford High School class of 1969, Lee County, AL. After graduation she moved to Rochester, NY and worked for Kodak for 10 plus years. Later she retired from Bausch and Lomb, also in Rochester, NY.
Brenda accepted Christ at an early age at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, Marvyn, AL. She returned home to Alabama in 2006. Upon returning home she rededicated her life back to Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the Missionary Board.
The Lord called his sweet and faithful servant, Brenda Lyons home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Columbus Hospice, Columbus, GA.
Brent loved cooking, gardening and visiting the flea market.
She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Brittany Walton; son, Galen Walton Sims; parents, Ola Adkins White and Havard Walton, Sr.; stepmother, Lee Cora Walton; siblings, Jacqueline Walton, Bobbie Walton and Albright Walton.
She leaves to cherish her pleasant memories, three grandchildren, Jordyn Chantel Williams of Germany, Jakayla Lashay Jernigan of Phenix City, AL and King Tre'vell Sims of Rochester, NY; siblings, Lincoln (Anna) Walton of Beauregard, AL, Hayward (Irma) Walton of Salem, AL, James Walton of Waverly Hall, GA, Danny (Dorothy) Adkins of Salem, AL, Virgil Lee Adkins of Smiths, AL, Willetta Adkins Miles of Phenix City, AL, Eddie (Annette) Walton of Columbus, GA, Loretta (Johnny) Sims of Opelika, AL and Minnie (Brookie) Tate of Seale, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
