Carolyn Jasper Mitchell, 74, of Richmond, departed this life on April 28, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, David B. Mitchell, Jr.; her parents, Ida Christian and John Jacob Jasper; sister, Mary V. Jasper; brothers, Jacob, James, and Charles Jasper. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: sister, Vivian J. Johnson (Oliver Sr.); brothers, Burley T. and Calvin Jasper; son, Rahsaan D. Mitchell; devoted daughter, Rashida L. Mitchell; grandchildren, Jonah, Jaela and Dinari; host of other relatives and friends. She was a member of Maggie L. Walker Class of "65 and a 1969 graduate of Virginia State University. She was a dedicated social worker for the City of Richmond Department of Social Services for over 30 years. Her remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. where viewing will be held Friday, May 13 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 216 W. Leigh Street.
