Obituary For Vera Mae Greenlee

Vera Mae Greenlee was born on June 11, 1934, in Kosciusko. She was the oldest child born to the union of Veto Dodd and Ammie (Patrick) Dodd. She attended and graduated from Attala County Training School before relocating to Milwaukee, WI. She accepted Christ and was baptized at Buffalo United Methodist Church.

Vera's beauty and charm captivated the heart of Jesse Greenlee. On October 30, 1960, they were united in holy matrimony and four remarkable children were born to this union.

Vera was a hardworking and dedicated employee for Sunrise Care Center until she retired and relocated back to her hometown of Kosciusko. She will be fondly remembered for her patience, understanding, sincerity, fearlessness, and cheerful presence in our lives. She had a compassionate spirit and anyone who met her can testify to the love and effort she put into everything she did from caring for others and her delicious holiday treats to her sensational flowers and plants. We will never forget her beautiful smile and delightful chuckles as she spent time embracing her passions for planting, gardening, canning, volunteering, church and family.

Vera is preceded in death by her parents, Ammie Patrick and Veto Dodd; brother James Dodd; sister Carrie Hinton and two sons Jerry L. Greenlee and Gerald Greenlee. Vera Leaves to cherish her loving memory: Husband, Jesse Greenlee; Siblings: two sisters, Louise Gladney and Nina Pearl Huddleston; Children: two sons, James Greenlee of Kosciusko, MS and Jesse Greenlee, Jr. (Carla) of Brown Deer, WI; a daughter Verann (Michael Allen) Greenlee of Austell, Georgia; Grandchildren: Darnell (Jemina) Johnson, Tawanda Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Eric Newell, La-Toya Newell, James Greenlee, Jr. and Ta-Tonna Greenlee of Milwaukee, WI; Jalen Greenlee and Justin Greenlee of Brown Deer, WI; and Great Grandchildren: De'ja Johnson, Jaden Johnson and Mackenzie Xiong of Milwaukee, WI; and a host of nieces nephews and extended family.
