Pastor James Jolivette, Sr., Pastor of Restoration Outreach Ministry, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mrs. Lavergne’s memories are being cherished by: her husband, Willis Lavergne of Texas; one son, Alvin (Vickie) Broussard of Opelousas, LA; four daughters, Elsie Gallow (Shirley), Ira Milton, Rose Broussard and Mary Lena Broussard, all of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Eugene (Elsie) Colomb, Sr. of Lafayette, LA; two Godsons, Clinton Broussard and Newman Stelly, both of Opelousas, LA; a niece she raised as a daughter, Rose Sonnier of Arnaudville, LA; eighteen grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; twenty great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her first husband, Elton Broussard; her parents, Octava and Elenor Brown Colomb; three sons, Joseph Ken Broussard, Alton Charles Broussard and Ray Charles Broussard; two daughters, Shirley Broussard and Mary Rose Chachere; two brothers, Joseph Colomb and Leonard Colomb; two sisters, Fabiola Vallerie and Rose Mary Sonnier; and one Godchild, Eugene Colomb, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Community Chapel C.O.G.I.C.
