Obituary For Mr. Jerome N. Evans

Tallahassee - Jerome Nathaniel Evans was born January 25, 1959, to Jerome Nathaniel Evans, Sr., and Winnie Evelyn Bellamy Evans in Tallahassee, Florida.

Jerome N. Evans went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2022. Jerome, a longtime resident of Tallahassee, Florida, is a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from James S. Richards High School in the class of 1976.

Jerome held employment with Red Lobster and Holiday Inn, where he served as a Chef mastering his love for cooking. He worked for Building Services at Florida State University and Florida A&M University as a Groundskeeper. He loved cooking, fishing, gardening, and planting flowers for his mother-in-law.

He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

A Celebration of Life in Loving Memory of Jerome N. Evans will be 11 AM Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church at 615 Tuskegee St, Tallahassee, Florida 32305 with burial at Oakland Cemetery.

Viewing will be Friday, May 6, 2022 from 1 PM to 6 PM at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife Phyllis E. Evans of 41 years; three sons, Brian J. Evans, Steven (Sykena) Evans and Davonte (Briana) Evans; daughter, Dazia B. Evans; seven grandchildren, Travion, Kingston, Paxton, Pryce, Stevee Leigh, Skyler, and Steele; five brothers, Michael Bellamy (Fannie Collins), Rodney (Jeanette) Evans, Cedric Evans, Kelvin (Lisa) Evans, and William (Ruby) Irving; mother-in-law, Priscilla L. Whitfield; two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Preston) Simmons and Debra (Bernard) Moore; three brothers-in-law; an aunt, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family.
