Obituary For Sylvester Jackson

Graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM, Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA . Please assemble at the cemetery on the day of service. A visitation will be held at the mortuary on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 , 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Mr. Sylvester Jackson was born February 21, 1948 in Atlanta, Georgia ( Grady Baby) to Marrion and Frank Jackson Sr. He was a father to Blake B. Boswell and Justin Jackson. He was a brother to Frank Jackson Jr. ( Deceased ) , Rovena Searcy, Sharron Jackson, Berlinda Jakson and Carey Jackson. A grandfather to Jessica and Dejohn and great grandfather of several beautiful children. An uncle and mentor toSterris Veal, Madre Veal and ER Searcy III. And leaves behind lifelong friend and companion Layfayette Cornell. He graduated from Hooper Rendell High School in Lawrenceville Georgia. He was drafted into the Vietnam war effort. Then, he went to work for the CDC in an administrative capacity, then on to BP Oil, and then to where his blessings lay, contract work. Sylvester could fix anything. A masoner, a carpenter, a mechanic. He was a family man that grew into someone that you can be dependent upon. He carried water for some, built patios, foundations, cooked , cleaned , supported and loved his family. And we loved him back. He was taken suddenly, and the family is reeling to adjust to life without him. He was a complicated man, but he loved the Lord. To God be the glory in all things. Amen.
