Funeral Services for Mr. David Lawson 59, of Unadilla GA will be Saturday May 14, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dooly K-8 Gymnasium Pinehurst, GA. Interment Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Unadilla GA.

David Earl Lawson was born on September 8, 1962, to the late David and Nancy P. Chaney Lawson, of Unadilla, GA. A graduate of Unadilla High School, Class of 1981, Earl joined the United States Army, where he served faithfully for four years. After his service, David Earl’s career consisted of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Warner Robins Air Force Base, where he retired after 30 years. Although retired, Earl decided to go back into the work field part-time with Groom’s Transportation. Earl’s passion for horses led him to become a member of the Dooly County Peace Makers. In the later afternoon of May 8, 2022, he received his new assignment and gained his wings at the Houston County Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Randall and Aline Lawson; maternal grandparents, Henry and Adelaide Chaney; five siblings, Sonny Lawson, Janice Washington, Larry Lawson, Raymond Lawson, and Sydney Lawson. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his daughter, Evatta (fiancé, Glen Adams) Lawson of Warner Robins; two grandsons, Jonathan Joiner, Jr., and Kayden Harris of Warner Robins; seven brothers, William Lawson of Unadilla, Albert Lawson of Macon, GA, MacArthur (Julia) Lawson of Unadilla, Eddie Charles (Shanta) Lawson, Hamp (Ora) Batton of Hawkinsville, GA, Davis Holt, Jr., of Lake Elsinore, CA, and Leon Fruitrail of NY; three sisters, Patricia M. Bonds Dwight, Andrea Lynn Fruitrail of Hawkinsville, and Kathy (Kenneth) Williams of Albany, GA; a goddaughter, Lamesha Little; close nieces who grew up with him, Shirley Washington of Unadilla, GA and Gloria Smith of Warner Robins, GA; devoted cousins/friends, Major Chaney of Atlanta, GA, Willie Harper of Atlanta, GA, Rory Lester of Perry, GA, and Waymon McIntee of Unadilla; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, family, friends, and acquaintances.
